About me
I was born on a freezingly cold winter's day in what is now the Czech Republic. The year was 1962 and the month was January. Eight years later my family emigrated to Germany, which has become my life long exile.
Although I have never gone to art school, art has been a loyal companion to me since early childhood. Maybe to cope with the torments of homesickness after emigration, maybe because it is running in my veins anyway, I took up painting at an early age, later photography and sculpturing.
Art has long grown into a passion, and I draw my inspiration from everything that surrounds me: the people I love, people I watch, people I meet, music, literature, nature, politics, the cities and landscapes I feel drawn to - Amsterdam, Hamburg, London, Istanbul, the ocean, the canals, the hills of my Swabian exile ...
